چکیده
Two large (ca. 0.5 mm long), rare, and probably closely related species of Facetotecta (y-larvae), Hansenocaris cristalabri sp. nov. aquila nov., are described on the basis last-stage lecithotrophic nauplii reared from plankton at Sesoko Island, Okinawa, Japan. The two resemble each other in having a labrum with row spines long, attenuate trunk region that terminates heavily spinose dorsocaudal spine. H. has an enormous, cockscomb-like ventral process bears distally directed, dagger-like along its anterior side, while spine-bearing keel extends posteriorly into robust, eagle-like beak. labral “crest” no equivalent any y-larva, nor crustacean nauplius; possible functions discussed. Another diagnostic feature absent is pair shallow, rounded notches bounded by sharp spinules far posteriolateral margins cephalic shield. Both new have longitudinal spine rows dorsum, four something not previously documented for y-nauplii. plate arrangement shield detail, attempt to homologize pattern y-nauplii (especially furcifera Itô, 1989). body surface fewer setae pores than late- or facetotectan nauplius date, suggesting paedomorphic development. A formal diagnosis presented family-group taxon Hansenocarididae fam. nov.; this name, already use, until now been nomenclaturally unavailable.

Two new species of Asellota (Crustacea, Isopoda) from coral reefs on Iriomote Island, Okinawa, Japan
Pleurocope iriomotensis sp. n. and Prethura tuberculata sp. n. are described from Iriomote Island, Ryukyu Archipelago, southern Japan. These are the first records of Pleurocope from the Pacific and of Prethura from the Asian Pacific coast. Pleurocope iriomotensis differs from its congeners in having lateral spine-like processes on pereonite 4 and coxal plates of pereonite 7. Prethura tuberculat...

Three new species of Ostracoda, Loxoconcha noharai sp. nov., L. santosi sp. nov. and L. sesokoensis sp. nov., are described from the Okinawa Islands, southern Japan. The two species Loxoconcha noharai sp. nov. and L. santosi sp. nov. live in estuaries, whereas the species L. sesokoensis sp. nov. lives in coral reefs. These species can be easily distinguished from other previously described Loxo...
متن کاملThree new gnathiid species with larvae ectoparasitic on coastal sharks from southwestern Japan (Crustacea: Isopoda).
Gnathiid larvae were collected from the gill chambers of coastal sharks in southwestern Japan. Some were reared in a laboratory aquarium and successfully metamorphosed into adults. Morphological observations of the adult males identified three undescribed species, which are designated Gnathia albipalpebrata n. sp., G. parvirostrata n. sp., and G. dejimagi n. sp. on the basis of their larval mor...

A new pedunculate barnacle, Probathylepas faxian gen. and sp. nov., is described from a hydrothermal vent in the Okinawa Trough. A new scalpelliform family, Probathylepadidae, is also proposed for the new genus and species. Probathylepadidae differs from all other five families of the order Scalpelliformes by the capitulum bearing eight primal plates and two whorls of imbricating supplementary ...

The palaemonid shrimp genus Palaemonella Dana, 1852 is currently represented by 21 formally described species worldwide, of which 17 species are known from the Indo-West Pacific. In this study, a new species, P. okunoi, is described and illustrated on the basis of two ovigerous female specimens collected from coastal waters in Okinawa Island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan, at depths of 5-30 m. The new ...
